On April 27 and 28, the 3D printing industry’s first-ever 26.2-hour Digital Additive Manufacturing Marathon (DAMM) conference will be held, completely online. The conference is the product of a multiorganizational effort from RAPID+TCT, AeroDef, 3Dnatives and Link3D and will feature events, keynotes and discussions about the current state of the industry regarding additive manufacturing systems and applications.
The new online conference follows their Digital Additive Manufacturing Conference this past March and will feature executives from HP, nTopology, Facebook, Carbon, Mayo Clinic, NASA, SLM and others.
The conference will focus on many things, including how the coronavirus is reshaping manufacturing and how the 3D printing community of engineers, designers and makers are rising to meet the sharp demand in medical supplies such as swab tests and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The effects of new material development on the industry is an important topic for DAMM attendees as are advanced applications for metals and additive manufacturing safety protocols. Digital factories and the Industrial Internet of Things as it relates to industrial additive manufacturing systems will likely be discussed, as will other topics like 3D-printed metal castings, standardization and the Additive Maturity Model.
Organizing the conference are Boulder-based Link3D, which provides industry with an additive manufacturing consulting system to help organizations configure custom options for integrating industrial AM into their existing systems; AeroDef, which designs and executes 3D printing conferences focused solely around aerospace and defense manufacturing; 3Dnatives, an online media platform focused on additive manufacturing; and RAPID + TCT, whose annual conference on additive manufacturing and complementary technologies like 3D modeling and 3D scanning just hit the 30-year mark.
