Building information modeling (BIM) solutions developer Ideate Software recently announced that its Ideate Explorer platform has been fully integrated with the Ideate Automation, a scripting tool that lets users schedule work processes. The integration was intended to enhance the performance of Ideate’s Warnings Manager feature as well as improve data exportation and analysis. The Warnings Manager is responsible for maintaining the overall health of Revit models by ranking warnings based on importance. Users are then notified whenever “high” ranked warnings appear in the model. With Ideate Automation, Ideate Explorer customers should be able to automate data exports under the Warnings Manager for quicker evaluation and dashboarding.

The Ideate Explorer browser lets Revit users audit and manage BIM models within a streamlined environment. Besides having a comprehensive view of any Revit model and its elements, the platform also offers tools for detecting and deleting incorrect and hidden problem items. Users can also easily find, refine, and revise relevant elements including those that are excluded from the project browser itself. A simplified navigation feature allows users to customize their browsing experience by navigating through view-based elements within Revit. This includes legends, schedules, sheets, and views.

Prior to the update, the Ideate Explorer mainly relied on manual exportation. With the integration of Ideate Automation, users may now automatically export both Ideate Explorer warnings data as well as Ideate BIMLink health check data into a single file for easy reviewing. Critical Revit warnings can be evaluated through detail and summary data fields such as file size and warnings threshold data. When scheduling automatic exports processes, an additional worksheet called Ideate Warnings Summary will be created which includes data such as file size, threshold size, and number of warnings.

The Ideate Explorer command that is currently supported for use with Ideate Automation scripts is IEXExport Warnings. This exports both the Ideate Warnings Detail and Ideate Warnings Summary data to the specified location. Users can now also access additionally requested data fields within the manual export to Excel or CSV file format including Revit file name, date of the export, and the warning category.

The Power BI v2 template now also offers a new Top 10 Warnings visualization feature. Meanwhile, support for the updated Power BI v3 template also offers Top 10 Warnings as well as Warnings Over Time visualizations. Both versions are currently available via customer request.

Ideate Automation is also used in a variety of other Ideate Software solutions such as Ideate BIMLink and Ideate StyleManager to ensure overall project health while increasing model accuracy.

Users may purchase the Ideate Software bundle for $500 to access all available solutions for six months. Ideate Software is also offering 14-day free trial versions for those want to demo the tools and features included in the Ideate Explorer platform. Other Ideate Software packages that can be downloaded include the Ideate BIMLink, Ideate Sticky, Ideate StyleManager, and IdeateApps.
