FANUC is demonstrating its new NC Reflection Studio at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, Ill. The studio boasts highly accurate CNC cutting simulation with backplotting, troubleshooting and part program editing capabilities, as well as a suite of job setups.
Traditionally, G-code simulations do not feature the actual parameters and setup of the machine being used. Users often lack the complete picture when trying to complete a job setup of tooling, offsets, part blanks and fixtures. They also lack the flexibility to edit and verify programs before production can commence.
By contrast, the NC Reflection Studio creates digital twins of the machine to be used by combining models from the machine tool builder and virtualized FANUC CNC. Each digital twin grants the users the ability to test and examine how the machine operates, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. This ensures robust G-code and cutting simulations that accurately reflect the parameters and kinematics of the machine. Users can also assure holistic program management by using the Ethernet to download or upload part programs.
Additional exhibits at FANUC’s IMTS booth include robots like the LR-10iA/10, M-2000iA and Paint Mate 200iA, which will demo laser processing, painting, vision guidance, material handling and automated assembly. Three new collaborative robots (cobots) will also be showcased—including the CR-35iB, which can lift objects as heavy as 35 kg and is dubbed the world’s strongest cobot.For more of our IMTS coverage, click here.
