Today, manufacturing is global, and complex products such as consumer durables are frequently assembled from component parts made on multiple continents. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has demonstrated the fragility of global supply chains and has reignited debate about the importance of domestically sourced manufacturing for economic stability.
