Struggling to Keep Up With Generative AI? Deloitte Has an Answer

Deloitte Consulting announced that it’s offering new generative AI training as part of its AI Academy, an upskilling initiative developed in partnership with several universities and technology institutes in the U.S. and India. Deloitte says it’s building tailored generative AI curricula as part of an initiative to train up to 10,000 professionals and clients across the two nations.

Deloitte’s upskilling initiative takes aim at the ongoing labor shortage and critical need to retrain engineers and manufacturers on emerging technology such as generative AI.

“The surge in popularity of generative AI is driving a need for skills in this emerging area,” said Mike Luk, managing director and U.S. AI Academy dean for Deloitte, in a company press release. “In addition to the theory and the science of AI, we’re offering practical, hands-on experience to help our practitioners understand the context in which AI is applied, how it’s applied and where it’s applied.”

Deloitte says the new curricula will encompass a range of courses for all skill levels, including basic generative AI fluency, advanced prompt engineering techniques and certifications for technical professionals. The courses were developed in collaboration with tech companies, including Nvidia, to focus on key AI upskilling priorities. Students will also have access to research and faculty members from partner academies like Virginia Tech and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

“Our collaboration with Deloitte started with a vision to revolutionize how organizations and academia work together to bridge the AI talent gap and mold our future leaders to be highly proficient in AI. Today, we’ve seen the success of our combined vision to develop curriculum that will digitally empower the global economy, and will continue to grow with the expansion of the AI Academy,” said Millie Pant, head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing at IIT Roorkee, in the Deloitte press release.
