Simcenter and MathWorks release updates; Comsol opens registration

Siemens expedites thermal modeling in Simcenter Flotherm 2404

With Simcenter Flotherm 2404’s new Material Map SmartPart feature, engineers can quickly import material map files to model printed circuit boards (PCBs) and complex integrated circuit (IC) packages. Engineers create a material map file from an ODB++ file using a Python script and then import the resulting open text-based file into Simcenter Flotherm. Once imported, they can perform detailed thermal analyses and complex system modeling, making workflows more efficient.

MathWorks updates its satellite communications simulation tools

As thousands of satellites orbit the globe and satellite communications technology rapidly evolves, MathWorks has updated the Satellite Communication Toolbox in its Matlab and Simulink software packages. The 2024a release of each product enables users to evaluate links between satellites, ground stations and new fixed or mobile platforms. Other significant updates include new computer vision, deep learning and instrument control tools to help engineers create, simulate and test designs.
