Phenix Systems Comes to the U.S.

Earlier this year, Phenix Systems (Riom France) quietly entered the U.S. market with its line of 3D printers for metals and ceramics. U.S. distribution and support is handled through Additive Manufacturing Technologies, Inc. (AMT), a Phenix subsidiary located in Elk Grove, Ill.

Phenix Systems, founded in 2000, offers three machines for industrial applications and one for the dental market. All machines employ laser sintering.

The company’s PXM prints in both metal and ceramic. The others — PXL, PXS and PXS Dental — use only metal powders. According to the company, these machines process very fine powder with a granularity of 6 to 9 microns. Listed materials include stainless steel, tool steel, super alloys, non-ferrous alloys, precious metals and alumina.
