Stratasys and Objet to Merge

Stratasys and Objet have reached an agreement to merge. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.

According to Scott Crump, CEO and chairman of Stratasys, “The combined company will continue to operate under the Stratasys name and will have dual headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Rehovot, Israel. “ Crump also commented that the merger will “create an even stronger company better positioned for growth.”

Until the merger is completed, both Stratasys and Objet will continue to operate as separate companies.

“Given the complementary nature of our technology portfolios and our shared commitment to innovation and service, we anticipate a seamless integration,” said Crump.

The merger and the 2011 acquisition of Solidscape give Stratasys a broad portfolio of 3D printing technologies.
