Sam Finegold of the Harvard Political Review, has an interesting view regarding how Amazon and 3D printing might one day be synonymous, "3D printing will link the virtual and physical world seamlessly. Users will be able to download a computer animated [sic] drawing (CAD) file and print the desired product in their home, or maybe print the product at a regional center kitted with more heavy-duty printers capable of printing more complicated objects."
More interestingly, Finegold imagines a market place where consumers can choose a base product and then add components to adapt the tool to their individual needs.
