Of course, there could be other reasons especially those cited in this TMO piece about Samsung's announcement that it would no longer supply displays for Apple iOS devices. But there will be much made of the fallout many predicted after the jury award in the Apple v. Samsung lawsuit. Let me be the first to say, maybe I missed the mark when I claimed the patent dispute between the consumer electronics giants would not adversely affect Samsung's top position as a component supplier to Apple. Perhaps there really is some top down strategic pressure at Samsung coordinating the actions of the various business groups with respect to Apple.

However, we should not downplay (as many are about to) the possibility that there are good, old fashioned business decisions at play here.
