I recently wrote about a ski/snowboard goggle from Oakley called the Airwave that provide a nice added feature of having integrated heads up display (HUD) by Recon Instruments. Recon instruments also happen to provide retrofit displays through their online store for existing goggles that can turn a day on the slopes into a high tech adventure.
Today they announced an upgrade to the software for the MOD live version of its HUD that enables 3D display of maps and navigation features.
According to the press release; “Included in this latest software release is the new Radar app which utilizes the built-in precision GPS sensors onboard the HUD to provide information on current location, 3D interactive resort maps, and buddy tracking.”
We always enjoy seeing technology used for productive (and cool) purposes.
