Tesla motors today announced shipment of their 500th electric sports roadster. At prices in excess of $100,000, this car is not for the faint of wallet. However, that’s the price to be paid to zip from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds without consuming fossil fuels.

More noteworthy (to me at least) was finding that Tesla is hiring lots of engineers. I searched this page http://tbe.taleo.net/NA7/ats/careers/jobSearch.jsp?org=TESLA&cws=1 for “engineer” in the Tesla help wanted section and found 38 job openings in their California locations.
