Why you should consider the Additive Manufacturing Users Group conference

You really need to get management approval to travel to Jacksonville, Florida, in April, for the only users group that is open to those with any 3D printing/additive manufacturing technology. After attending, you will be telling your friends and associates the very same thing.

I became a believer when I delivered the keynote address at the 2010 conference. I was awed by the expertise and know-how that filled the event, yet surprised by the open, friendly atmosphere.

This isn’t an old-boys club. With some attending for the past 20 years and an average of 7 years in the industry, it could easily be an experts-only conclave, but it isn’t. Those seasoned veterans embrace the novices and willingly share all that they know.

Over its five-day run, you will get more good, practical information than you could from a year's worth of trade shows. And you will walk away with a network that you can call upon whenever you have a question or problem.

"Over its five-day run, you will get more good, practical information than you could from a year's worth of trade shows."

After that 2010 keynote address, I offered my services to the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG), the organization behind the conference. Initially, I assisted with newsletters, press releases and website content. Now, I sit on AMUG’s board as its Additive Manufacturing Industry Advisor. It is a lot of work, but it is a pleasure because I know that this group will help so many do so much with 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Another amazing thing about this conference is that no one bolts after the day’s presentations end. Everyone stays for the evening get-togethers, which feature great food, open bar and good entertainment.

Why do I mention this?

Because that means that you will have casual conversations from breakfast to bedtime…casual conversations where you will pick up lots of insight and make lots of new, powerful contacts. I’ve been in this industry for 23 years, yet I learn dozens of things and make dozens of new contacts at this unique and amazing event.

Check it out at www.am-ug.com (conference details and registration information). You’ll thank me later.
