Japanese CREW’s New 3D Printer

Last December, office supply giant Staples entered into the 3D printing market by teaming up with Mcor to launch an in-store 3D printing service. Following on the heels of that announcement, Japanese office supply company CREW’s Co. Ltd is doing Staples one better and producing their own 3D printer.

Named the “Warehouse” the CREW’s 3D printer will print cost ¥359,100 (US $3,846) which, for the print quality looks to be overpriced.

Other specifications for the Warehouse include:

  • Print area: 200 × 200 × 200 mm
  • Print Material: ABS Plastic
  • Print quality: 0.35 mm
  • Weight: 13KG
  • Power: 100V AC
  • Power consumption: 150W

Hopefully CREW’s will continue to perfect their design and print quality, and another quality printer will enter the market.
