Zayger 3D Printed Watches

Schlomo Mockin is a Brooklyn-based watch maker and repairman. In recent years, Mockin has taken an interest in 3D printing, specifically focusing on how it can be used in watch making.

In a recently launched Kickstarter campaign, Mockin is debuting his new leather watch line, Zayger. According to Schlomo. “For the past two years I have been learning to 3D model using programs… I have been testing and prototyping using the services provided by the great company Shapeways.  Finally, after four years of learning, reading, apprenticing, casting, molding, lathing, milling, polishing, dipping, overhauling, breaking, fixing, designing, 3Dprinting, prototyping, producing and manufacturing, I can finally, happily and proudly present…..ZAYGER.”

Mockin’s sees 3D printing as a central part of his company’s vision. Through the use of 3D printing, “The prototyping price is the same as the production price, and watches can be made with unlimited design complexity without driving up the price.” Mockin also believes that because of 3D printing he can offer customized, hand crafted timepieces while sacrificing the hefty price tag.

Zayger’s LeatherTime Watch features a 40mm case with a 4mm crown. In addition, it features a Swiss quartz movement and is water resistant up to 3 atmospheres. If you’re interested in helping the Zayger campaign, head over to Kickstarter.
