Craving More Horses? Try the Hyper-Tuned Ferrari 458

Like many of you, I’m finding that my Ferrari just isn’t fast enough.  Kidding.  But if you have that problem, Houston’s Hennessey Performance (HPE) can help you out with their new HPE700 Twin Turbo Ferrari 458.

Built around a standard Ferrari 458, the Hennessey upgrade delivers a whopping 738 horsepower at 8,400rpm, a full 170 hp better than the stock model. With all of that power the Hennessey 458 enters the highest echelon of auto performance, giving the Ferrari the ability to accelerate from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

According to John Hennessey, the tuning shops founder, “The HPE700 Twin Turbo 458 delivers a sound and driving experience that few road cars can offer”. Being bold, Hennessey delivered a shot across the bow for Lamborghini enthusiast saying, “Aventador owners, beware—this car will take you by surprise!”

While the newly tuned Ferrari’s engine is a testament to excellent automotive tuning, other upgrades to the auto really round out its performance.

Concealed beneath the car’s custom carbon fiber covers are dual low-inertia ball-bearing turbochargers, fitted neatly at the end of a dual-clutch sequential 7 speed gearbox. Add to that a thick aluminum plenum that houses an air-to-water charge cooling element and you’ve got yourself one high-performance package.

But Hennessey hasn’t just tuned the mechanical elements of the car they’ve also “reflashed” the 458’s engine control computer optimizing the engines fuel delivery system.

“This is car will impress any Ferrari owner,” said Don Goldman, HPE CEO and longtime Ferrari owner. “Most purists would shudder at the thought of modifying their Ferrari. However, the HPE700 Twin Turbo 458 would easily change their mind.”

Actual retail price for the hyper-tuned supercar? $293,000. Pretty cheap when you consider a jetpack will run you $200K.
