Designer Edge Image of the Day – An UV Venusian Eclipse

When we think of a solar eclipse we usually imagine it involving the Moon, however, last year a more unusual eclipse occurred, a Venusian Eclipse. Captured by NASA, the eclipse which involves both the Sun and Venus was rather minor considering the sizes differences between the two planets, however, when looked at through three separate ultraviolet filters the event take on a hypnotic quality.

While the NASA image is incredible in it lies is a sense of bittersweet. The next Venusian Eclipse won’t occur until 2117.
