1955 Lincoln Indianapolis Exclusive Study

Created in a joint venture between Detroit’s Lincoln and Italy’s Carrosozzeria Boana the 1955 Lincoln Indianapolis Exclusive Study was a concept vehicle built to preview the future of sports cars.

Featuring a 200HP V8 engine, and operated by a four-speed automatic transmission, the gorgeous Indianapolis was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1955 causing quite a stir in the automotive world.

Things aren’t too different today.

In an action to be held in November at RM Auctions the Indianapolis will be sold as part of a lot of cars that represent a time when the automotive world, and Detroit in a particular, dared to dream big. Restored to its original appearance the Indianapolis is sure to fetch a hefty price, and turn heads wherever it goes.
