AutoCAD and Evernote Makes Markups Even Easier

Autodesk has teamed up with Evernote to create a fluidic workflow for users that need access to remote drawing data while being able to share comments and markups.

This is just one more instance where Autodesk's AutoCAD 360 Mobile platform is proving the benefits of its cloud strategy.

Interoperability is a big issue in data management.  Most of the time, the CAD world focuses on exchanging 3D data.  But, there are more interfaces with data throughout the entire value stream than there are CAD data exchanges.  By integrating AutoCAD drawings with Evernote the entire process is simplified.  This teaming will benefit more than the CAD jockies.

With the speed that Autodesk is finding partners to expand its cloud offerings, I think the competition is going to have a difficult time keeping up.  My only fear, teaming turns into mergers & acquisitions which turns in monopolist data control.  On the bright side, at least then all the data will be interoperable.
