MSC Software Expands Collaborations with Russian University

Recently, MSC Software and Nizhniy Novgorod State Technical University (NNSTU), a Russian technical institute, announced an expansion of their Simulation and CAE engineering training programs.

The Competence Center (CC), was first created by the partnership in 2011. Its aims are to support industry and engineering analysis. The center targets shipbuilding, energy, automotive and other Russian industries.

The NNSTU recognises the needs of the Russian industry with respect to engineering analysis. They also see how simulation can be used to solve practical problems with respect to engineering design. To that end, they wish to train scientists and engineers to use MSC software. With this knowledge, NNSTU hopes their students will be more useful to the Russian market.

NNSTU Director Anatoliy M. Groshev said, "the Competence Center is an important element of training qualified engineers for modern Russian industry … Cooperation with MSC Software helps us strengthen our educational and scientific base, promotes financial stability of the Institute and the University as a whole in the context of higher education."

Thanks to MSC, the CC is equipped with the latest of CAE software, including MSC Adams, Dytran, Easy5, Marc, Nastran, Patran and Sinda. Software specialists at CC are kept up to date with the large library of software through MSC consultations, trainings and seminars.

"MSC Software finds great importance in collaborating with universities … Preparation of specialists with practical skills in solving real engineering problems using modern simulation technologies is what is needed for the development of high-tech industries in Russia,” mentions MSC Software Regional Director, Nikolay A. Bondarenko. “Effective use of MSC technology in the educational process, research, and in fulfilling industrial orders in cooperation with NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev will continue to expand in the future."

Thanks to these MSC licenses, the NNSTU is also able to provide engineering services to Russian enterprises; which should help increase the reputation of NNSTU’s Competence Center and their graduates in the field.
