Chevy’s 2014 Camaro Z28

In a recent announcement Chevy has unveiled its 2014 Camaro Z28, a car that’s undoubtedly meant to confuse the track with the road.

Equipped with a 7.0-liter V8 LS7 engine, the Z28 will produce 505 HP and 481 pound-feet of torque.  With that engine Chevy says the new Camaro can outperform both a Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 regardless of the racetrack or conditions.  Add to its engine a six speed manual transmission, and the aerodynamic Z28 looks to be one of Detroit’s fastest, most sporty offerings for quite some time. Beyond its nuts and bolts the 2014 Camaro also features 305 Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires mounted on featherweight, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels.

For those interested in the latest in American-made speedsters the Z28 is being offered at the starting price of $75,000 and will be available this spring.  Until then car enthusiasts will have will have to wait for Chevy to release further performance specs and dream of taking the Z28 out for jaunt on the Nurburgring.
