Autodesk Wins Big at the Academy Awards

Autodesk is a big company whose products span more industries than a person does during their life.  Some people focus on BIM, other focus on PLM, some on mechanical design, and even others are media and entertainment.  Although actors, directors, and producers are the ones being honored on stage during Hollywood awards ceremonies, the real stars are behind the scenes producing these incredible works of art and digital majesty.

Two weeks before the Oscars, the Academy hosts a special awards ceremony that recognizes innovation in motion pictures.  Autodesk won two awards.

Autodesk Mudbox received an Academy Certificate for its contribution to multi-resolution digital sculpting.  Autodesk MotionBuilder received an Academy Plaque for its architecture being used as the basis for virtual production.   Additionally, a plethora of films were nominated for various reasons, including best special effects, and they all used Autodesk products.  I guess if you have to fix it in post, do it with Autodesk.

You can see a list of nominated movies, and short segments of each, from Autodesk's Youtube playlist.
