Want to boost your Master of Engineering Management with another degree? Here are some options.
The convenience of online education combined with engineers’ thirst for knowledge is leading more students to consider a dual degree when starting their Masters of Engineering Management.
Of the schools surveyed for ENGINEERING.com’s school directory, 75% of MEM programs have an option to pair your degree.
For engineers with ambitions for a C-level position, an MBA or financial engineering dual degree may be the best bet. Another worthwhile degree combination for upwardly mobile engineers is project management or construction management. However, not all courses you take will necessarily count towards the second degree.
Want to take that other Masters online? Not all dual degree options are available.
You would think that when you are taking an engineering management program online, and when that program has a dual degree option, that said dual degree would also be available online. Furthermore, you would assume that if two engineering masters programs were available online from a single university, that an option would exist to take them as a dual degree. However, this is not always the case.
If you want to reduce your credit count and stress levels, do your research to make sure you can either attend the courses on-campus or there is an online option. Of the other masters degrees offered online, it seems that electrical engineering, civil engineering, systems engineering, and computer sciences are the most popular.
