Register for IEEE’s Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference

Recently, the IEEE’s Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference (WIE-ILC) opened their registration. The mantra of the conference is to “inspire, engage, and advance women in engineering,” a goal that ENGINEERING.com can really stand behind.

Already, IEEE’s Women in Engineering (WIE) has offered technical seminars, humanitarian aid, networking, university outreach and knowledge based programs to thousands of young women and girls; a global effort made possible with the help of 15,000 members and 450 affinity groups.

WIE-ILC will now help to parlay its attendants into more communities where they can find support, innovation and knowledge sharing to collaborate and discuss future endeavours.  The focus will be to offer mid- to senior-level women professional development through “a different IEEE”:

  • Inspiration
  • Engagement
  • Empowerment
  • Enjoyment

The conference will teach these skills and attitudes through hands-on workshops and presentations to help women advance their careers, achieve their goals and ensure a comfortable balance between their personal and professional lives.

The WIE-ILC team is led by Chair Nita Patel, a Systems and Software Engineering Manager at the electro-optical company L-3 Warrior Systems. She also serves as the IEEE’s WIE chair and is a member of the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors.

Speakers at the conference include Lockheed Martin Executive VP Sondra L Barbour, Tesla Motors’ Manager of New Product Introductions Milo Werner; Ericsson President Maya Strelarmigotti, Cisco Systems VP Liz Centoni, Intel Senior VP Diane Bryant, and many more.

The conference will be held at the San Francisco Westin Hotel. For more information on registration, speakers and agenda please visit ieee-wie-ilc.org.
