This day was inevitable. The day that the free package for GrabCAD is retired, that is, for Workbench. The Community is still free!
Use Partner Spaces Instead
GrabCAD made this change based on user feedback. GrabCAD currently has two free options for Workbench (beyond the free trial period). The first is a free user account which connects to two projects. The second is Partners that have been requested to join a Partner Space which is owned by a user account. It is the first one that is going away, the free user account that comes with two projects.
How Are You Affected?
If you are the project owner on the free plan, you must upgrade to the Pro Plan or better. This will cost you at least $50/mo and is required to collaborate (upload and modify files) in the project.
If you are a collaborator, you must contact the Project Owner and request invitation as a Partner. You will continue to have free access to the project with the ability to view the files you have been given permission to see.
If you are the project owner that only used GrabCAD because it was a super convenient way to store your CAD files, especially with all the great integrations from within your favorite CAD packages but really don't have any use for project management or sharing data, then you must download all of your files before your free account closes. Your data is not lost immediately, though, if you can't do this by the August 1 deadline. GrabCAD will hold your data for six months and you can email support to get access.
