German RepRap to Debut New, Large Scale Printer

Some suspected it, others thought they were in the know: German RepRap develops a new 3D printer for commercial customers. Now it is official: The new printer for large models will be presented on the upcoming Euromold fair in Frankfurt/M., Germany. The new printer is part of the professional series and boasts a printing volume of 1000x800x600 mm. The technology is based on the fused filament fabrication (FFF) and is ideal for producing prototypes, fully functional and demonstration models as well as prints for molding.

German RepRap already has a broad installed base using their X400 printer. The first product of the new professional series is based on the knowledge gained from those users, who wanted to print larger objects or a number of smaller ones in parallel. "Our goal is to offer a complete range of products for commercial customers", explains Florian Bautz, managing director of German RepRap. Having said that, the new printer is not an enlarged X400, it has been developed from the ground up. This is also obvious when looking at it.

Tailored to the requirements of professional customers, the new 3D printer features multi-extruder-technology, intelligent filament management and an intuitive user interface. With a layer height of 0.5 mm even large models can be printed very quickly in  draft mode.

The new professional series has been developed from scratch and is not based on existing machines. With this new 3D printer German RepRap proves its competence as a supplier of industrial-strength 3D printers for the commercial market. Furthermore they are one of a handful of manufacturers of 3D printers that cover a large range of 3D printers for professional as well as private customers.
