MSC Launches Academic Simulation Learning Center

MSC has announced an expansion of their Online Simulation Learning Center for students and educators. The MSC Academic Learning Center is a self-paced online e-Learning platform teaching MSC Nastran and Adams simulation software. The MSC Academic Learning Center contains all the resources of the professional learning center at a tenth of the price.

Engineering education tends to focus on theoretical knowledge. However, extending simulation education to students and educators will allow classrooms to focus on applying theory to real-world problems. To that end, the MSC Academic Learning Center will help train students and educators to understand and use Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software like MSC Nastran and Adams simulations.

Through a management system, users can assess their progress in the MSC Academic Learning Center. Course completions and status can be assessed using the management tool. Some courses include simulation fundamentals, linear statics, multi-body dynamic analysis, and modeling techniques.

The content is pieced together through topical modules. Each module includes lecture slides, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and quizzes. The tool also allows access to a community forum where users can educate each other and share best practices.

With an MSC Academic Learning Center subscription, users have access to a variety of information spanning various learning styles, content and platforms. Users can learn at their own pace and access the material from tablets, laptops or desktops. Current academic subscriptions cost $99 a year.
