Kalypso Acquires GoEngineer’s Implementation Services Business

Kalypso is a professional services consulting firm that provides industry specific services by addressing innovation needs of their customers mainly in consumer goods, healthcare, high tech, life sciences and retail. Kalypso recently acquired the implementation services business of GoEngineer. GoEngineer is a reseller of software tools in engineering, manufacturing and product design domain in  the United States and Canada. It is a reseller for SOLIDWORKS, Stratasys, CAMWorks, Altium and Oracle Agile software tools.

As more customers have chosen and shown interest in cloud, GoEngineer has concentrated on cloud based subscription licensing. This deal will help GoEngineer to build upon its cloud services for product design, engineering and manufacturing customers. In addition, GoEngineer will be able to build on its relationship with Stratasys 3D Printers.

GoEngineer’s presence has been primarily in the United States and Canada. This presence gels well with Kalypso’s business that has historically been within the same geography. Kalypso has also enhanced its implementation services with this acquisition that brings in additional resources with industry focused skill set and experience.  One should note that Kalypso has a differentiated model of services delivery that provides best of thought leadership in industry focused innovation, traditional implementation services and even software solution offerings. Merging in such environment would require GoEngineer’s resources to mold into the Kalypso’s business model and an opportunity to grow.

Kalypso and GoEngineer together see this deal as a partnership where their customers will be able to get best cloud based PLM offerings and unique industry focused implementation services, a win-win situation for the two companies and their customers.
