Dassault Systèmes releases the 2015x version of its 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

Recently, Dassault Systèmes announced the general availability of the 2015x 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This release builds-up on its previous release – 2014x that was covered in an earlier blog.  The 2015x release focus has been on enhancing the existing support for 12 industry segments and to improve the user experience capabilities for both on premise and cloud offering.

User interface developments include touch-friendly, easily customizable interface and toolbars. The developers have also worked on improving the quick loading of large sessions. R2015x  also maintains DS continued commitment towards compatibility and synchronization between V5 and V6.

The notable industry updates include: - 

•  Transportation and mobility industry professionals can benefit from over 250 new capabilities – such as composites braiding and ability to openly exchange models 
•  Engineering and construction industries can benefit from realistic 3D models of ground and underground 
•  Life sciences professionals can address collaborative authoring and engineering of biological entities and pathways

One of the new features in R2015x is the groupings of applications called roles. These roles are designed to cover the activities that users may need to accomplish a certain set of activities specific to an industry.  Examples of roles include: creative designer, project manager, stress analysis engineer or process planner.  In R2015x, there are 219 roles on premise, 115 roles on public cloud and 115 roles on private cloud.
